Our problem: We sin daily in thought, word and deed. We have a sinful nature that has no ability to live as God requires. We cannot save ourselves by our good works.
Romans 3:20 – “No one will be declared righteous in His sight by observing the law.” Romans 3:23 – “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” Romans 6:23 – “For the wages of sin is death.”
God’s Solution: God’s justifiable anger for our sin was taken out His Son Jesus. Jesus also lived a life of perfect obedience which we cannot live but which God requires of us. God the Father credits you with Jesus’ perfect record.
John 3:16 – “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”
Receiving God’s gift: The gift of forgiveness and eternal life is received simply by faith, trusting and believing the Good News of what Jesus did for you
Ephesians 2:8-9 – “For it is by grace you have been saved through faith – and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God – not by works, so that no one can boast.”
